Artist Statement: Snake River was created to preserve a fleeting moment of beauty. While driving through the corner of Idaho on a road trip, the Snake River curved alongside us, catching the golden hour light in a way that felt magical and surreal. Using wool roving and two felting needles, I worked slowly and deliberately, blending texture and color to echo the movement of the river and the softness of the light.

Artist Bio: Laura Dickson is an interior designer and artist based in Payson, Utah. While she enjoys working across a variety of media, her practice is rooted in fibers and textiles. Her landscape-inspired pieces are deeply connected to her travels, capturing the emotional impressions and memories of each place. Through her work, Laura uses texture and material as a way to preserve the feelings and atmosphere of the environments she experiences.
