Artist Statements:
Golden Rabbitbrush- I met a long held desire of mine by painting this little one. There is a small field near my house with tons of these bushes begging to be painted. The clusters of tiny flowers create a lacy contour that glows against the afternoon sun.
Desert Storm 2- This was actually the first painting of my diptych completed. I really enjoyed the drama of the distant dusty yellow sky below the billowing storm clouds and thought I’d create a companion painting for it. It wasn’t until I was halfway through the other one that I thought how cool it would be to make a panorama diptych.
